Our FRP Fiberglass Joists are used for deck sub-structure framing and provides a low height, level and stable solution for supporting your timber or composite deck.  They have been used to support walkway grates and platforms for the commercial industry for years.

FRP is rot proof and no white ants or decay of the structure can happen.  They come in Black and Yellow.

Our joist profile is 50mm wide and 50mm high.  Its construction gives the strength to allow it to outperform timber joists in a tight and compact build height situation. These can be placed close to the ground where timber will rot.  These joists are cheaper then aluminum and come up to a massive 6m lengths.

Timber joists really should NEVER be used for any decking where it is less than 500mm from the ground.  However our new range of FRP joists can go lower to the ground and connect to our full FRP foot and base systems, or it can run on your own pedestals or stirrups

Using our pedestals, the joists can be used to level deck heights that are low to the ground where water and drainage issues inhibits the use of other construction materials.

It is ideal as a low risk, floating deck system for installations over waterproof membranes and as a sub-frame over concrete, pavers or natural ground.

To the DIY’ers out there, you can’t lay this straight over grass or dirt.  You must have it supported throughout its span like any deck construction sub-frame, so they don’t move.

These joists are Ideal for new builds & renovations, residential & commercial projects from Alfresco areas to rooftop spaces, balconies, pool areas & more.

You can level it on your existing slab with packers or plates or you can choose what post supports you use into your ground.  In most instances you may use a combination of existing posts in ground and packers to ground and deck pedestals, depending on your job.

The system is designed to ‘float’ on a waterproof membrane without penetrating it. Also ideal as a sub-frame for easily covering up unsightly existing pavers & for decks over concrete & natural ground.

Great for around the pool where coping meets natural ground, where your levels may not have been determined at the outset of your construction.

This is engineered solution with long-span, high-load capacity + the framework results in a substantial reduction in the number of deck pedestals or posts.

You should be working on a span of 600mm centres for your joist runs. So a 3m piece of deck joist would have 6 pedestals or posts under it, etc.  We are DIY, we do not provide any support in spec'ing up your subframe.

Note the decking or FRP Grates you add on top, the manufacturer specification will also determine how far apart your joists will need to be for the deck span.

Normally you will need a rubber membrane between the joist and the deck to stop potential tapping so you can use our joist rubber if needed.
