These joists are a simple way of running your joists fast on your bearers or pedestals for most low-level deck structures.  It is also a great way to get close to the ground on an existing concrete slab where you may then pack it to level before layign your deck

This style of joist has been recommended by many builders for a fast-build deck so we thought we would carry as an option.  The black colour helps to blend it under the shadows of your deck.

With a 30mm OD plus our 23mm composite deck this combination provides a low height, level and stable solution to go under doors or windows or weep holes around your patio or alfresco.

This Aluminium SHS is 30mm wide and 30mm high. 

Joist Pricing

The listed price is per 5.4m length when buying the Honorwood Composite Deck at the same time.

If you do not use our deck them the price is $20 per 5.4m length more expensive then listed.

Using our pedestals, the joists can be used to level deck heights that are low to the ground where water and drainage issues inhibits the use of other construction materials.

It is ideal as a low risk, floating deck system for installations over waterproof membranes and as a sub-frame over concrete, pavers or natural ground.

To the DIY’ers out there, you can’t lay this straight over grass or dirt.  You must have it supported throughout its span like any deck construction sub-frame, so they don’t move.

I have heard of some handmen TEKing angles to the bottom then adding a leg every 800mm then pushing them into concrete holes as a superfast deck structure sub-floor.

You can level it on your existing slab with packers or plates or you can choose what post supports you use into your ground.  In most instances you may use a combination of existing posts in ground and packers to ground and deck pedestals, depending on your job.

The system is designed to ‘float’ on a waterproof membrane without penetrating it. Also ideal as a sub-frame for easily covering up unsightly existing pavers & for decks over concrete & natural ground.

Great for around the pool where coping meets natural ground, where your levels may not have been determined at the outset of your construction.

You could be working on a span of 800mm centres for your joist runs. So a 5.4m piece of aluminium deck joist would have 7 pedestals or posts under it, etc

Note the decking you add on top, the manufacturer specification will also determine how far apart your joists will need to be for the deck span.
